What is a Comprehensive School Counseling Program

A comprehensive program is planned, preventative, and data-driven. It includes four components that work together across grade levels.
Guidance curriculum, Individual student planning, Responsive services, System support.
Texas calls this framework the Texas Model and provides clear guidance and examples for each component

What this looks like on our campus

• Guidance curriculum lessons in classrooms on academic skills, career awareness, and SEL
• Individual planning through goal setting, endorsement, and course selection, and graduation planning under House Bill 5
• Responsive services, including brief solution-focused counseling and referral
• System support, including staff collaboration, data reviews, and family engagement.
